Interest in developing a strong, interactive homeschooling community in the Diocese of Superior – and supporting homeschooling parents in their calling as primary educators of their children – prompted the organization of the Diocese of Superior’s first Homeschool Conference four years ago.
It is with joy that I write to you announcing an opportunity for the Diocese of Superior to consecrate to the Lord Jesus in the Most Holy Eucharist. In this letter I would first like to tell you why this is important and timely. Then I will share the specifics of this opportunity.
The 2025/26 Catholic Services Appeal (CSA) kickoff has started in our summer visitor parishes, with the general launch for the entire Diocese scheduled for the weekend of September 20-21.
Look for the CSA Booklet, which will arrive in your mailbox soon. It includes a heartfelt letter from Bishop Powers and a pledge envelope. Bishop Powers has set a personal goal of 100% participation to show our solidarity in living out his Pastoral Plan on Evangelization and Discipleship. The Jubilee Mass of Thanksgiving held Saturday, July 26, at the Cathedral of Christ the King, Superior, included 110 couples celebrating milestone wedding anniversaries, believed to be the largest group yet for the Diocese of Superior.
After a number of years offering opportunities for young men and their parents to gather with diocesan priests for fellowship and witness, the Diocese of Superior hosted their first Bethany Brunch for young women on July 18-19.
Tyler Kircher is the new associate director of the Diocese of Superior’s Office of Evangelization and Missionary Discipleship. He replaces Jen Metzger; she and her husband, Robert, are moving to southern Michigan to be closer to their children and their families.
